Multimeter RSS-extended by teejay3 Multimeter RSS-extended by teejay3
This is the same as my previous Multi-meter, except that I have added more lines and tabs.

Before there was only 7 lines, now there are 12.
Before there was only 4 tabs, now there are 5.

Includes an "x" button to close skin when not in use.

Thank's Lifehacker for featuring this!

For everyone having problems with links not opening, here is the fix.

1) Right click the skin, then go to edit.

2) Do a search for "LeftMouseDownAction=[5MeasureLink1]" use "LeftMouseDownAction=["#URL#"]" and "LeftMouseDownAction=["#2URL#"]" etc.
Inside those brackets [] you need to put the actual URL address. This is what I've got: [link] which makes the Gizmodo RSS feed work.

Hope this helps, feel free to ask if you get stuck.

Has anyone been able to make this work? Once I upgraded Rainmeter to 2.3 it stopped being able to open links. It's a great add-on, and I've grown quite fond of it. Thanks for any advice.

I must say this is really simple and so far the only RSS Feed Rainmeter skin that works for me and I can easily add what I want. ONE BIG MAJOR PROBLEM! I can't open any links. I even tried to set my firefox path in the code "browser=" but I can't get it to open up.

Ditto for me too. I've been using this feed on my setup almost since it first came out. It's fantastic!

But, since I've updated rainmeter to 2.3 (even 2.4beta), clicking on the feed no longer opens the links in a browser. I never realized how often I used this feature until it stopped working. :( Any thoughts as to how to navigate this problem?

Thanks a lot for this, i love this skin and now it is even better ;) all i need now are a few more tabs. I noticed when i open Rainmeter and Multimeter loads the second tab is always selected is there a way to change it to another tab ? Cheers.

Thank you for this, it's great! I'm making some changes, adding more feeds to the list, I've got it working well with 8 feeds, but I'm stumped at one thing. What dictates which feed the skin initializes on? So far, it's always started up on the "google" feed(or whichever you've replaced it with). I've been all over the code and can't seem to find what causes it to start like that. Otherwise, this is the best RSS feed skin I've been able to find. Once I get as many feeds added as I like, I'd hope to be able to add more than 12 without getting the string related errors, but first things first. Thanks again!

Scratch that last request, if anyone is curious, there's a "Hidden=1" flag set in the code for all but the second feed source. See the last line of this code snippet. The "2Link#" meters don't have that set, this they always start first on initialization.

[1Link1]
Meter=STRING
MeasureName=1MeasureRSS1
X=2
Y=38
H=#height#
W=#Width#
ClipString=1
StringStyle=NORMAL
FontColor=#Color2#
FontSize=#Height2#
FontFace=#Font#
AntiAlias=1
LeftMouseDownAction=[1MeasureLink1]
Hidden=1

so by not answering the other people's questions of how to change the feeds you are acknowledging that you can't do that? or are unwilling to post how to do it?

Love this reader, is there a way to add more tabs.

I am not a coder or anything, but i looked at the .ini file and modified it, the new favicon appears, but when i click it, the feed from that favicon overlays the previous feed, is their an easy way to modify the ini to add more feeds?

Well there was going to be, but gmail's RSS is an authenticated RSS feed and Rainmeter doesn't support authenticated RSS.

You could rout the feed through Yahoo Pipes, but I don't know how secure that is. Maybe later this summer I'll sit down and try it out. I'll post back here if I do.

Well for this setup here, 12 lines is the maximum. If you use a different system for parsing the RSS feeds though, you might be able to get more.
